Kentucky Derby Spirit In Johnston County

CLAYTON – A horse and rider from the Red Mountain Hounds of Rougemont pulled away from the pack to win one of four races during UNC Health Johnston Derby Day on Saturday, May 3.

More than 1,000 guests gathered at Portofino Equestrian Center in Clayton for the event, which raised just over $200,000 for the Johnston Health Foundation.

Attendees participated in fashion contests and enjoyed derby-inspired refreshments. All proceeds will go toward patient care and support.
