Sheriff’s detectives need assistance identifying two men who robbed a Clayton-area convenience store around midnight Wednesday.
The robbery was reported at Fiddlestix on Highway 42 about four miles west of Clayton.
Johnston County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said two black males entered the business at 11:54pm. One of the men produced a knife and demanded money. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken along with 60 packs of Newport cigarettes.
The suspects fled in a white 4-door passenger car show in the surveillance image.
Detective Lt. Don Pate said the Fiddlestix convenience store robbery is not believed to be linked to Thursday mornings armed robbery at CVS Pharmacy in Smithfield. Smithfield Police are still investigating the CVS robbery where the pharmacist was held at gunpoint and prescription medication was stolen.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects in the surveillance images is asked to contact Johnston County sheriff’s investigators at 919-989-5000. Callers can remain anonymous.
