A driver escaped with only minor injuries after her car overturned and knocked down a power pole Sunday night.
The crash happened around 11:30pm on Stotts Mill Road, south of Wendell, in northern Johnston County.
The young female driver lost control in a curve and overturned off the roadway, clipping a utility pole. The driver was able to climb from the overturned Honda Civic. Power was knocked out for several hours to one home on Stotts Mill Road.
EMS crews checked out the driver at the scene but she refused transport to the hospital. The Archer Lodge Fire Department, Clayton EMS, Duke Energy and the NC Highway Patrol responded to the scene. Photos by John Payne
