SELMA – A loaded concrete mixer overturned Monday on NC 96 just south of NC 42.
The incident occurred at slow speed on an already closed section of NC 96 so no traffic was affected when the soft waterlogged shoulder gave away to the heavy truck.
Although the truck was seriously damaged, the driver was not injured.
The Northside Fire Department responded to the accident with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The section of NC 96 North where the accident occurred is closed for construction of the NC 42 intersection roundabout.
