A&M recently collected nominations on their Facebook page and website. Helping veterans is important to company co-founder Stephen Mull. “I served 11 years in the Marine Corp, and I’m dedicated to hiring and helping Veterans in any way I can.”

Army Vietnam Veteran Victor Vaccaro moved to Clayton in 2015 from New Jersey after battling cancer and other health issues. He is a proud lifelong member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Local 800. Before his health concerns, Vaccaro was an active volunteer visiting and bringing food to other heroes at local area Veteran rehabilitation hospitals.

Vaccaro, now 75 years old, says, “I am a disabled Veteran on a fixed income. I bought a house that was rented for years and there are a lot of things that need work.”

A&M Premier will provide Vaccaro a new roof in the coming weeks and will cover 100 percent of the materials and labor costs in partnership with Mid-Atlantic Roofing Supply and GAF.

As a Veteran-owned and operated business based in Raleigh, NC, A&M Premier is comprised of 75 percent Veteran employees. The company believes that businesses operated by individuals who have spent years in the military learning valuable skills and techniques can apply to the roofing industry.

“It’s an honor for my team and I to help a fellow Veteran in need of a new roof. We understand replacing an old roof can be stressful and costly – especially one that’s 26 years old like this one. We’re going to give Mr. Vaccaro the peace of mind he deserves knowing he and his family are safe and secure under a new roof protected from outside elements,” Mr. Mull said.

Nominations for the Free Roofing Program for Veterans will occur every quarter, and anyone can vote for a specific Veteran on the company’s Facebook page or website.
