BENSON – A man made away with several lottery tickets from a Johnston County convenience store. On Aug. 10th around 8:00pm the suspect walked into the Sheetz at 13433 NC Highway 210, Benson and said he needed to exchange a car charger he had purchased earlier at the store. The clerk was attempting to determine if the charger had actually been purchased from the business. In doing so, she became distracted.
The suspect reached over the counter and grabbed eight $5 NC Education Lottery tickets and fled.
The Hispanic male suspect left in a dark gray Chevy Malibu with a Florida license plate. Authorities are still searching for the suspect.
