ZEBULON – The Carolina Mudcats and Smithfield, N.C. based Low and Slow Smokehouse are excited to announce a new partnership to bring a Low and Slow Smokehouse food stand to Five County Stadium for the remainder of the 2023 season and beyond. The new Low and Slow Smokehouse food stand will be located on the first base side of Five County Stadium and will serve brisket sandwiches and Pepsi products.
The new partnership officially launches on Tuesday, July 4 when the Mudcats host their annual Independence Day celebration with the ever-popular Mudcats for America post-game fireworks extravaganza show at Five County Stadium in Zebulon. The Independence Day fireworks show will follow Carolina’s 7:00 p.m. home game versus the Fayetteville Woodpeckers.
“We’re extremely excited to provide our premium, prime products to deserving patrons and neighbors,” said Low and Slow Smokehouse owner and head pit master Dan Bailey. “We’re also excited to expand our brand into neighboring Wake County and beyond through this partnership!”
The main Low and Slow Smokehouse restaurant is located in Smithfield, N.C. above Blue Line Aviation at the Johnston Regional Airport.
“We are thrilled to establish this new partnership with Low and Slow Smokehouse,” said Mudcats General Manager David Lawrence. “We’ve long wanted to add a local dining option like this for our fans and Low and Slow Smokehouse is a great partner for this one-of-a-kind opportunity.
Wonder if they will take cash at the stadium unlike at their restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere but no cash so no business from me! Cash is legal tender and should be accepted everywhere without exception.
Get off my lawn
Cash is legal tender, but that doesn’t mean everyone has to take it, and it certainly shouldn’t be required of businesses to accept it.
They should have to take it! Relying solely on credit cards leads to more debt for the consumer and the governments push for digital currency with tracking… not a road we need to go down.
Jen, it’s their restaurant. If they don’t want to deal with cash then they shouldn’t have to deal with cash. Why do you feel that you should tell them what they should have to do?
Not telling anyone what they have to do just making suggestions for better business practices that would bring in more business. I loved the food and atmosphere the one time I went but will not support no cash business and I know many, many people that won’t.
There is an Ice cream shop on Lake Wheeler Rd. named the Howling Cow. This is run by students from NC State. They only take CC also. In confidence I was told that the college employees had problems figuring out how to make change. (Just Kidding) but they do only take CC. I also can’t believe that this is such an important issue with top priority. Ha Ha
