Lynn Prescott was named the interim principal of Cleveland Middle at the August Johnston County Board of Education meeting held on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
Prescott received her Master of School Administration from Campbell University in 2012. She has served in administration since 2009, most recently as the Assistant Principal of Cleveland Middle School. She has been in that role since 2016.
“I am very honored to have been selected by the Board of Education and Dr. Bracy to serve Johnston County and the Cleveland community as the Interim Principal for Cleveland Middle School.” said Prescott. “I have been fortunate to serve the Cleveland community as Assistant Principal of Cleveland Middle School for six years and I am grateful to continue my service in this new role. It is my hope that I can build upon the outstanding leadership that has come before, as this amazing school and its extraordinary faculty and staff endeavor to provide an outstanding source of education for the Cleveland community.”
Prescott brings a thorough knowledge of the Cleveland community and education to this role. She has worked alongside school staff, students, and community members to improve the performance of Cleveland Middle.
“We are grateful for Mrs. Prescott’s leadership experience and for her ability to serve Cleveland Middle as Interim Principal,” said JCPS Superintendent Dr. Eric Bracy. “I know that the start of the school year will be a success under her guidance.”
