Man Allegedly Robs Own Mother
BENSON, N.C. — A Benson man was arrested after authorities say he robbed his own mother during a domestic altercation.
Otis Jikeam Giles Jr., 36, of Marler Road, was taken into custody Nov. 21 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. He faces charges of felony common law robbery and misdemeanor interfering with emergency communications.
According to warrants, the alleged incident occurred Nov. 10. Giles reportedly took his mother’s cell phone, driver’s license, credit card, and debit card during the altercation. When the 60-year-old victim attempted to call 911, Giles allegedly snatched the phone from her hand and fled with the items.
Giles was transported to the Johnston County Detention Center and held under a $25,000 secured bond.
