Man Arrested After Brief Vehicle Chase

SELMA, N.C. — A Selma man wanted on multiple outstanding warrants was arrested after leading Johnston County deputies on a brief vehicle pursuit, authorities said.

On April 16 around 10 p.m., deputies were actively searching for Jonathan Gabriel Marlow, 47, of North Sellers Street, when they reportedly spotted him driving a white GMC SUV on Webb Street near U.S. 301.

When deputies attempted a traffic stop, Marlow allegedly refused to pull over, leading officers on a short pursuit through several streets within the town limits before eventually stopping.

Marlow was taken into custody and charged with fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was also served with outstanding warrants for misdemeanor larceny, felony habitual larceny, and three counts of failure to appear related to charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, assault on a female, and injury to property, according to court records.

Marlow was transported to the Johnston County Detention Center.
