A Brogden resident was arrested on multiple charges Thursday night following a disturbance with a neighbor.
Tracy Lane Evans, 48, of the 3300 block of Baker’s Chapel Road, Smithfield is accused of firing a handgun multiple times in the air following an altercation with a nearby homeowner.
When deputies responded to Evans address they found oxycodone and hydrocodone inside two prescription pill bottles, with the labels removed, in his pockets, according to Johnston County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Tammy Amaon.
A check of the handgun allegedly used in the incident revealed the weapon had been reported stolen in Johnston County in 2001, Amaon said.
Officers alleged Evans was highly intoxicated at the time of the incident.
He was charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm, felony trafficking in opium or heroin, misdemeanor resisting a public officer, and violating the Johnston County firearms ordinance. He was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $150,000 bond.
