A man who reportedly walked away from the emergency department at Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield on Thursday was arrested a short time later after he allegedly exposed himself.
Smithfield Police said they were called to the Salvation Army Thrift Store at 306 N. Brightleaf Boulevard shortly after 3:00pm after the man, identified as Isaac Robert Johnson, 30, walked inside the thrift store and asked for assistance. He then reportedly exposed himself.
Johnson was still at the scene when police arrived. He was charged with indecent exposure, a misdemeanor, and confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $5,000 bond pending a July 17th court date.
Johnson has an address in Raleigh but reportedly told arresting officers he was now homeless.
