Man Fired Gun Into Occupied Home, JCSO Says

PRINCETON – No injuries were reported after a man intentionally fired a gun into an occupied home, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said.

On December 25 at approximately 12:27am, deputies were dispatched to a disturbance on Howell Road.

Authorities allege Bobby Williams Lane of Turner Road, Princeton went to the Howell Road address, entered the home, and communicated threats. Lane was pushed out the door by the occupants.

Moments later gunshots were fired and bullets struck the home. Luckily, none of the three victims were injured.

Johnston County deputies responded and located evidence the home had been struck by gunfire. A vehicle parked outside had also been damaged by bullets.

Lane was later found by Wayne County deputies and turned over to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with felony breaking and entering to terrorize or injure, felony discharging a firearm into occupied property, and simple assault.

He was held under a $57,300 bond.

The incident was domestic related and not a random act.
