Emergency crews responded to a report of a shooting Sunday night but determined a man found at the scene bleeding severely had not been shot.
The incident was reported at 9:46pm in the Woodside Acres Mobile Home Park on Barber Mill Road near Clayton.
Johnston County deputies found a 28 year-old man suffering from a deep cut to his knee. The victim was transported by Johnston County EMS to Wake Medical Center for treatment.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said the victim could not remember what caused the injury but thought he had been shot. Detectives responded to the scene but quickly determined no shooting had taken place.
The incident still remains under investigation.
