Selma Police with the assistance of the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and NC State Bureau of Investigation are investigating an overnight homicide.
Around 11:00pm Thursday, police and EMS responded to a report of an unconscious man in a pickup truck stopped near the corner of North Pollock Street (Highway 301) and Poole Drive.
Police discovered the pickup truck had been riddled with bullets. The male victim died from his injuries.
Investigators found broken glass from three of the four side windows on the truck.
Pollock Street was closed until 4:00am Friday.
No additional information has been released including the name of the victim.
