Man Jailed After Deputies Respond To 911 Calls

FOUR OAKS — A 37 year-old man is facing charges after deputies say he repeatedly called 911 when no emergency existed.

Mynor Ivan Soto-Escobar, of the 7600 block of U.S. Highway 301 South, was arrested March 8 and charged with misusing the 911 system.

According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call around 1:25 a.m. in which Soto-Escobar reported a break-in at his home. When officers arrived, they found no evidence of a burglary and noted that Soto-Escobar appeared to be intoxicated.

Authorities said deputies had responded to a similar call from Soto-Escobar the previous day, on March 7. During that incident, he reportedly called 911 requesting assistance, but responding deputies determined law enforcement was not needed and again noted he appeared to be intoxicated.

Following the second incident, Soto-Escobar was taken into custody.

He was later released from jail on a $1,000 secured bond.
