Around 12:30pm, Johnston County deputies rushed to the scene after a 21 year-old man said he was robbed. The victim told deputies he was an employee at Wal-Mart and a relative had dropped him off in the rear parking lot for work. The victim said he decided to walk to a nearby convenience store before starting his shift. After returning from the store, he was approached in the rear parking lot from behind. The suspect placed an object in his back and demanded he get on his knees. The victim was then robbed of his wallet containing $50 in cash.
The victim said he didn’t know if the object placed in his back was a gun or a knife.
The suspect, a white male about 6 foot 4, wearing a black shirt brown pants and dark shoes, was last seen fleeing on foot. A Johnston County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was brought to the scene but was unsuccessful in finding the suspect.
