DUNN – The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning shooting. It happened around 1:19am Friday at 266 W. Blackman Road, Dunn.
A person called 911 reporting a shooting at the address. The caller said she was transporting the gunshot victim, later identified as Dustin Jack Wiggins, age 33, to a local hospital.
After arriving at the Blackman Road address, witnesses reportedly told officers that Christopher Dean Autry, age 35, shot Dustin Wiggins after the two had engaged in an altercation.

Wiggins was taken by private vehicle to Betsy Johnson Hospital then transferred to Cape Fear Valley Hospital for treatment.
Warrants were obtained for Autry’s arrest. Once located he will be charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
