Three dozen marijuana plants with a potential street value of $72,000 at full maturity were seized from a Johnston County home on Wednesday.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a home in the 1400 block of Lee Road outside of Clayton. Authorities said they seized 36 plants and equipment used for a marijuana growing operation.
Lamont Kasheen Friend, 40, was charged with four drug offenses: felony manufacturing marijuana, felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Friend was transported to the Johnston County Jail where his bail was set at $40,000.
