Marsh Enters GOP Primary For North Carolina Senate Seat

JOHNSTON COUNTY — Caitlin Goose Marsh of Smithfield has filed to run in the 2026 Republican primary for North Carolina Senate District 10.
Marsh said she is entering the race with a focus on pursuing what she described as meaningful change and confronting challenges directly.
“Everyone talks about change, but few are willing to take the hits that come with actually doing it,” Marsh said in her announcement. “I filed (Dec. 5) because I’m not afraid to take on hard fights. District 10 deserves a leader with the courage to push through resistance and stand firm when things get uncomfortable.”
According to her campaign, Marsh plans to center her platform on issues including protecting families, increasing accountability and addressing what she views as systems that have not served Johnston County residents effectively.
North Carolina Senate District 10 includes all of Johnston County. The seat is currently held by Senator Benton Sawrey of Clayton who has filed for reelection.

At first blush this appears just like a Kamala famous word salad. No substance
I don’t view it as word salad but , it is way too vague so far. Each one of those issues she mentions, I would have to put a question mark after.

Benton Sawrey is doing an excellent job for District 10. He has my vote.
DTL – destined to lose. No chance against Sawrey + few Republicans will be elected. Not that Dems are doing a good job. It will be a reaction against unhinged Trump.
I applaud her!
We need more good WOMEN like her in politics in her generation, and other generations to come! Congratulations!
Congratulations!
I don’t get how her opponent can cut income taxes and spend $250M on farm preservation. Meanwhile this lady is willing to run, share her values and not make ridiculous promises.
