SELMA – Following the sudden departure of Jeff Temple as Selma Town Manager, Fire Chief Phillip McDaniel has been appointed the interim town manager. McDaniel will serve dual roles as both the fire chief and top town administrator.
Chief McDaniel has served as the Town’s Fire Chief since 2007 and is a lifelong resident of the Selma area.
McDaniel said, “I am proud to serve Selma in any capacity needed to assist in positive growth. Each Department of the Town works together to meet the goals of our Council and enrich our citizens’ lives. As one big team, our leadership will continue to work toward making Selma a Town we can all be proud to call our home.”
McDaniel previously served as interim manager from June through August of this year, prior to the hiring of Mr. Temple.
Temple resigned October 5 after just seven weeks on the job. He was the fourth Selma manager in as many years.
The Town Council will discuss hiring of a permanent Town Manager position at a later date.
