BENSON – A Four Oaks man died in a motorcycle accident. The accident was reported at 11:46pm Friday on Godwin Lake Road near Meadowbrook Road in the Meadow community.
The Highway Patrol said a black Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling east on Godwin Lake Road when it ran off the roadway in a curve and struck a culvert. The motorcycle came to rest in a field as the operator was ejected.
Jeremy Johnson Naquin, age 37, of the 8500 block of Strickland’s Crossroads Road, Four Oaks died at the scene.
There were no other vehicles involved.
The Highway Patrol said speed was a contributing factor. Alcohol is also a suspected contributing factor pending toxicology reports. Naquin was not wearing a NCDOT approved helmet.
