A motorcyclist was hurt when his bike collided with an SUV Sunday morning on Interstate 40 just east of Interstate 95 between Benson and Meadow.
The impact ejected the motorcyclist into the median while his bike ended up on the right shoulder of the roadway.
He was rushed to Wake Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries following the 5:30am accident. The driver of the SUV was not injured.
The Benson Fire Department and Johnston County EMS responded to the scene. State troopers are investigating the cause of the collision. Photos by John Payne
