Murder Arrest Made After Remains Identified As Missing 61 Year-Old Man

William “Jimmy” Graham, 61, of Newton Grove was reported missing by his family on Dec. 15, 2019.

NEWTON GROVE – Human remains recently discovered near Newton Grove have been identified as those of a missing 61 year-old Newton Grove man. William “Jimmy” Graham was last seen by his family on December 12, 2019. He was reported missing three days later.

A tip led Sampson County sheriff’s investigators to an undisclosed location where human remains were found. Evidence collected from the site was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office and the remains were recently identified as Mr. Graham.

Anthony Corbett, 21, was served Thursday with a murder warrant from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office. Corbett is currently in federal custody on unrelated charges. He is being held without bond on the murder charge in a federal facility.

Authorities did not disclose how Graham was killed or how Anthony Corbett was linked to the murder.
