Narcotics Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Alleged Meth Trafficker

BENSON, N.C. – A Benson-area man has been arrested on multiple drug trafficking charges following an undercover investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.

Shaquan Tyrese Stanley, 23, of Faulkner Lane, Benson, was arrested Aug. 22 and charged with 10 counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance, and one count of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance.

The investigation was conducted by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division with assistance from Smithfield Police.

According to the sheriff’s office, undercover agents made two purchases of methamphetamine from Stanley.

Authorities said the two purchases totaled 116.5 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $11,650.

The sheriff’s office described Stanley as a large-scale methamphetamine trafficker in Johnston County.

The investigation remains ongoing. Additional charges and arrests are possible.
