Summer Saturday hours to return

NCDMV’s summer walk-in service hours will also return later this year. Nearly 17,000 transactions occurred at 16 offices during the 12 Saturdays of the 2024 season.

This year, the division is planning to expand to 20 offices offering services from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturdays from June 7-Aug. 23. The four new Saturday offices are Elizabeth City, Clayton, Durham East, and Kernersville. One additional change this season is that the Raleigh East office will be open on Saturdays instead of the Raleigh North office.

“We are doing everything we can with the number of offices and staff that we have to meet the surging demand for our services in our growing state,” said Commissioner Goodwin.

  1. It won’t fix the DMV, the whole system is busted. 5 hours at the DMV for a 10 minute visit shows incompetence from the top down.
