NCDOT Awards Contract To Improve Eastern Wake County Roads

RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Transportation recently awarded a nearly $4.4 million contract to improve more than 20 miles of roadway in Wake County.

Contractor Blythe Construction Inc. out of Charlotte will mill, resurface and reconstruct shoulders along about 4 miles of U.S. 64 Business between Morning Flyer Way to east of Old Homeplace Circle.

The contractor will conduct similar work along with 46 sections of secondary roads in eastern Wake County, including 2.3 miles of New Hope Road between Poole Road and south of New Bern Avenue.

Construction can begin as early as Oct. 26, and the contract calls for completion in spring 2028.
