NCDOT Road Additions – February 2023
At their February 2023 meeting, Johnston County Commissioners approved a request from the NCDOT to add the following roads to the State Maintained System:
- Highland Crossing Way, E. Odell and W. Odell Lane – Highland Crossing – Wilders Township
- Muscadine Way – Heritage Ridge – Elevation Township
- Mason Landing Drive and Wyatt Drive – Mason Point East – Micro Township
- Feather Drive – Eagle Chase – Clayton Township

NCDOT can’t maintain the roads they’re already responsible! Per the NC Leg joint Transportation Oversight Committee, they’ve already got a 9 year backlog of “required” maintenance and a 2 year backlog of “urgent” maintenance. House chair Rep Jones has stated publicly that the NCDOT needs an additional $18.4M in funding over the next 10 years. And you wonder why state taxes continue to rise….. #VoteOutIncumbents
