RALEIGH – North Carolina’s Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, who is currently campaigning to be the Republican nominee for North Carolina’s next governor, was named as one of three potential options for Vice President of the United States by a Fox News commentator on Sunday.
The commentator, Horace Cooper, named Robinson, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley as potential picks for former President Donald Trump.
Robinson endorsed former President Trump earlier this year. On the flip side, Trump has pledged to endorse Robinson for his 2024 gubernatorial bid.
“Lieutenant Governor Robinson is flattered by the speculation,” a spokesperson for the Robinson campaign told the Carolina Journal. “He is proud to support President Trump, and they have a great working relationship, but they have not had any specific conversations about this. Lt. Gov. Robinson is laser-focused on serving North Carolina as lieutenant governor and becoming our state’s next governor.”
Some politicos think it could make sense for Trump to choose Robinson as his running mate.
“The choice of Mark Robinson as a running mate for Donald Trump would have major political impacts on both the national and state levels,” said Mitch Kokai, Senior Political Analyst at the John Locke Foundation. “Robinson’s strength always has involved his impassioned speeches firing up audiences at home and outside North Carolina. That’s the type of quality the former president is likely to seek from a potential running mate.”
Kokai also noted the significant curveball Robinson’s selection as VP would throw into N.C.’s Republican primary for governor.
“Without Robinson in the picture, former congressman Mark Walker and Treasurer Dale Folwell would seem like the clear beneficiaries,” Kokai said. “Democrats would have to scramble to rework their plan of attack.”

He takes a stand for biblical righteousness that comes from God. I applaud that and he has my vote regardless of what he runs for. Clarence Thomas is awesome. And so is Thomas Sowell. And many others. Democrats hate them because they (the democrats) minds are still enslaved into a devilish liberal and demonic ideology. They are blinded from the truth by satan so you can always expect scoffers to make their comments. You know you’re doing something right when Liberals heads explode.
