Neuse Charter School Honor Society Chapter Earns National Recognition

MITHFIELD — Neuse Charter School’s National Honor Society chapter has received national recognition for its leadership, service and work within the school and community.
The chapter was named a Chapter of Distinction by the National Honor Society.
The award recognizes NHS chapters that meet the organization’s standards for operations, leadership and service while demonstrating a strong commitment to the core pillars of the Honor Society.
“The NHS Chapter of Distinction Award celebrates chapters that truly embody what the National Honor Society stands for—students who don’t just excel academically but actively strengthen their communities,” said NPA CEO Ronn Nozoe. “The Neuse Charter School chapter demonstrates how powerful it can be when young leaders channel their talents toward meaningful service and positive change.”
Neuse Charter School NHS advisor Keeli McLamb said the recognition reflects several years of work by student leaders.
“This award is a true testament to the dedication and integrity of our students over the past several years. I have been fortunate to work alongside exceptional student officer teams who have led this club with character and vision. Their hard work and commitment to serving our school and community have set a high bar, and I couldn’t be prouder to see their efforts recognized on a national level.”
The Chapters of Distinction program recognizes National Honor Society chapters that meet all Essential Standards and distinguish themselves in areas including student governance and leadership development.
School officials said the award reflects the chapter’s continued emphasis on leadership, service and involvement in the broader community.
