New Benson Booster Club Formed To Support Parks & Rec Programs
BENSON, N.C. — A new nonprofit organization has been established in Benson with a mission of supporting the Town of Benson Parks and Recreation Department through volunteer service, fundraising efforts and community partnerships.
The Benson Booster Club was founded by President Kelly Mathews, who saw an opportunity to help strengthen recreational programs and ensure local children and families continue to have access to quality activities and experiences.

Club leaders say the organization will work alongside the Parks and Recreation Department to provide additional resources that can enhance existing programs while helping create new opportunities for residents of all ages.
Through fundraising initiatives, volunteer support and partnerships with local businesses and community members, the Booster Club hopes to make a lasting impact on recreational offerings throughout Benson.
Organizers believe strong recreation programs play an important role in building a healthy and connected community, providing opportunities for youth development, family engagement and lifelong participation in sports and activities.
The new organization will focus on supporting department programs while encouraging community involvement and investment in local parks and recreation efforts.
Town officials have welcomed the formation of the Booster Club and the support it will provide.
“We look forward to the positive impact the Benson Parks and Recreation Booster Club will have on the community and the opportunities it will help create for generations to come,” said interim Benson Town Manager Tanner O’Quin.
Officials say the partnership between the Booster Club and Parks and Recreation Department will help strengthen recreational opportunities for current residents while laying the foundation for future generations to enjoy.
Community members interested in supporting the Benson Booster Club are encouraged to watch for upcoming volunteer and fundraising opportunities as the organization begins its work in the community.
