Sandra Morris was named the principal of Clayton Middle at a Special Session Johnston County Board of Education meeting on Friday, June 25.
Morris, who was married in April of this year, is formerly known as Sandra Robertson. She has served Johnston County Public Schools for the last ten years, most recently as an Assistant Principal at Clayton High. She will begin her new role at Clayton Middle on July 1.
“I am thrilled with the opportunity to continue working with students and families in the Clayton community,” said Morris. “Returning to Clayton Middle is a dream come true for me and I cannot wait to get started working with our students and staff.”
Morris began her career in Johnston County Public Schools as a health and physical education teacher in 2011 at Riverwood Middle.
After receiving her Master’s in Education Leadership from NC State she served as an Assistant Principal at Benson Elementary from 2014 to 2015, at Clayton Middle from 2015 to 2019, at Cleveland High from 2019 to 2020, and at Clayton High from 2020 to 2021.
“Mrs. Morris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as Principal at Clayton Middle,” said Johnston County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Eric Bracy. “I believe that she will be a great fit for our Clayton Middle families and I am looking forward to seeing all that she will accomplish.”
