Thirty law enforcement officers searched a new area near Benson on Thursday for a missing Florida man. As part of an ongoing effort to find 22 year-old Christopher “Cole” Thomas, officers searched on foot and by air new locations both inside and outside the city limits.
The search involved Benson Police, the NC SBI, Johnston and Harnett County deputies and the Wilson’s Mills Police Department. A canine was also used in the search. An SBI aircraft also participated.
“While Cole Thomas was not located today, a number of areas were eliminated from consideration, and additional searches are planned,” Benson Police Chief Kenneth Edwards said in a press release. “Our commitment remains to find Cole Thomas, and to reunite him with his family and friends.”
Cole was last seen on November 25th after stopping in Benson with two of his friends. Anyone with information that could help locate Cole Thomas is asked to contact the Benson Police Department at 919-894-2091.
