A Benson woman delivering newspapers was killed Wednesday morning in a collision outside Four Oaks.
The crash occurred around 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of Unity Church Road and Strickland’s Crossroads Road.
Crystal Stanley, 35, was delivering newspapers for the News & Observer when she reportedly pulled into the path of 16-year-old Blake Johnson of Four Oaks. Johnson was on his way to South Johnston High School.
Trooper N.A. Hocutt said Wednesday afternoon that Ms. Stanley did not see Mr. Johnson’s SUV when she stopped at the intersection. Ms. Stanley was killed on impact when the SUV collided with her sedan. Johnson sustained minor injuries.
Trooper Hocutt said speed was not a factor and that no charges will be filed.
