The Town of Benson will conduct its second of six public town-hall style meetings about the economic future of the Johnston County town.
The meeting, slated for 7 p.m. tonight (Thursday) at the Benson Town Hall-Conference Center, will focus on the town’s infrastructure.
Among the topics are roadway discussions, technology including a discussion of high-speed Internet service and underground infrastructure components such as water, sewer, natural gas and storm water drainage.
Speakers from North Carolina State University will offer their input and provide information for the public.
“This meeting will focus on infrastructure and its role with regard to our growing community economically,” Town Manager Matt Zapp said. “We strongly recommend each resident to attend. Their input and ideas are most valuable.”
During the meeting the board of commissioners will also conduct the business of running the town. Among the topics the public will be able to observe is the board’s final decision on purchasing a new pumper for the Benson Fire Department.
