Johnston County Public Schools were closed for the third consecutive day on Monday for winter weather and hazardous travel conditions.
Students have missed three instructional days due to last week’s snowfall – Jan 4, Jan 5 and Jan 8th.
Officials tells WTSB News that no decision has been made about how students or staff will make up these days. Public Information Officer Tracey Peedin Jones said, “Johnston County Public Schools will evaluate all options to assist in developing a make up schedule and will consult multiple stakeholder groups.”
According to the 2017-18 school calendar five inclement weather days were built into the schedule. Two of those dates have already passed but three remain. They are March 29th, April 5th and April 6th. Those dates are part of Spring Break.
The final decision will rest with the Johnston County Board of Education.
