Selma ā Alexander Ray Hail, age 32 passed away Monday January 9, 2023 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham. He was born in Marion County Indiana on December 2, 1990 to Marian Murdick Hail and Ray Estil Hail. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Mable and Everette Murdick, Leolia Stevenson and Joe Hail; sister, Dianna French; uncle, David Murdick; cousin, Emily Stump.
A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday January 14, 2023 at 11 AM. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will follow the service in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Alexander graduated from Galveston College with an Associates Degree in Science. He enjoyed tutoring students in Calculus and Trigonometry. Alexander worked for Murdick and Sons in salvage, at Drexel Axle Factory as a machinist, and with Quinton Residential Living as a Direct Care Staff for the developmentally delayed.
Mr. Hail attended Crumplers Crossroads Church of God of Prophecy in Selma and was known by many as a gentleman who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, going to the movies, working out, walking, and taking care of his yard and the yards of those nearby who were unable to do so. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially feeding the birds and squirrels. He always saw the good in everyone he met. He was a friend to the underdog. Alexander will be remembered most as a constant jokester who loved making people laugh.
In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by sisters, Erika Robbins and husband Benjamin of Clayton, Karen Hall and husband Tom of New Castle, IN; brother, Kevin Hail of Chicago; nephews, Oskar Robbins, H.L. Prindle and Wesley Hall.
