Selma – Alma Rebecca Bynum Rose, age 79, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, after a brief
battle with cancer. She was born on September 19, 1943, in Thomasville, GA, to the late James and Alma Bynum. She is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ellen Aldridge and brother, James L. Bynum.
Alma was a loving wife, to her late husband of fifty-seven years, Charles Rose. She was also a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Alma was an avid gardener and she enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds taking care of her many plants. She also loved animals and her pet cats. During her career as an LPN, she worked for over twenty years at Johnston Memorial Hospital and later worked over fifteen years at Smithfield Manor Nursing and Rehab facility. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with the burial to follow in Micro Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Rose of Clayton, daughter, Donna Toler (husband Keith) of Smithfield; grandchildren, Christopher Toler of High Point, Zachary Toler (Shelby) of VA, and her only great-granddaughter, Amaryllis Toler.
