In Loving Memory of Tony

Born on March 8, 1968, in Selma, North Carolina, Tony was the cherished son of Carolyn Barnes-Davis and Willie Robertson. He is also remembered fondly by his brothers, Reggie Barnes and another brother residing in Newport, Virginia. His legacy is enriched by the love of his grandmother, Cora Barnes-Sneed, and the late Bell Robertson.

Tony leaves behind a supportive family, including three aunts, Ann Curtis, Doris Robertson-Brooks, and Jean Robertson, along with three uncles: Amos Barnes of Richmond, Virginia, Bobby Sneed of Selma, North Carolina, and Lemon Robertson of Selma, North Carolina. He was a proud father to two sons, Anthony and Tyseen Barnes, and a devoted grandfather to four grandchildren residing in New York, as well as an adopted granddaughter, Janiya Hamilton, from Atlanta, Georgia.

His spiritual journey began at the young age of 12 when he joined the New Hill Baptist Church under the guidance of Rev. W.M. Giles. He completed his education at Smithfield-Selma High School and subsequently served in the Marines for approximately three years. Following his military service, Tony moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he dedicated many years to working at an auto supply store until illness curtailed his career.

He is lovingly remembered by his beloved friend, Pam Duncan, with whom he shared over 25 years of companionship.

As we reflect on Tony’s life, we celebrate the love he gave and the memories he created. May his soul rest in peace.
