Kenly – Bernice Baker Tyner, age 80, passed away Thursday September 11, 2025 at her home in Kenly. She was born in Johnston County on March 20, 1945 to the late Carl Baker and Easter Medlin Baker. In addition to her father and mother she is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Tyner; brother, Billy Baker; sister, Virginia Johnson; brother-in-law, Jimmy Johnson.

A funeral service will be held in Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday September 20, 2025 at 3:30 PM.

Mrs. Tyner was a member of Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church and served as a Sunday school teacher. She also enjoyed her work with children at the daycare.

Bernice is survived by her son, Tim Tyner and fiancée Franca Grillo of Kenly; brother, Earl Baker and wife Janice of Pine Level; grandchildren, Keaton Tyner and Hunter Briley; great grandchild, Lauren Briley.
