    Billy Wayne Worley, 70, of Princeton passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022, surrounded by his family at Gabriel Manor Memory Care Unit in Clayton, North Carolina. Billy was born in Wayne County on December 12, 1951 to the late Luby (Root) and Neda C. Worley. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his brother Marion Worley.

    Billy was a 1970 graduate of Princeton High School. He was a life-long farmer and worked part-time with the Princeton Police Department for over twenty years. Billy was a faithful member of Hephzibah Baptist Church where he served in many capacities including Sunday School Director, Cemetery Chairman, Usher, Building & Grounds, and Softball Coach.

    Surviving Billy are his wife of forty-six years, Grace Peedin Worley, two daughters, Holly Bailey (Matt) and Alyson Tamer (TJ), three grandsons, Noah Bailey, Wyatt Tamer, and Sawyer Tamer. He is also survived by sister-in-law Linda Worley and sons, nephews Brian (Stephanie) and Jason (Lisa), sister-cousin Hilda Bedford and sons Kenny (Sue) and Johnny. He is also survived by brother-in-law E. Wayne Peedin and children, nieces Jennifer and Cynthia Peedin, and nephew Chris Peedin (Nichole), and many cousins.

    The visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Hephzibah Baptist Church located at 4633 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

    The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Hephzibah Baptist Church in Princeton with Reverend Steve Stephenson, Reverend Kevin Drake and Reverend Matt Munday officiating. The burial will follow in the Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery with the following pallbearers serving: Craig Braswell, Danny Braswell, Denny Braswell, Danny Peedin, Jason Peedin, Cecil Woodall, Mert Woodall, and Ronnie Woodard.

    The family wishes to thank the wonderful care given to Billy by the Gabriel Manor staff and Pruitt Hospice.

    Flowers are welcomed, but donations may also be made to Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Multi-purpose Building Fund.
