Smithfield – Brenda Joy Edwards Valadez, age 67, passed away Monday August 18, 2025 at Meadow View assisted living in Smithfield. Brenda was born in Johnston County on January 6, 1958 to the late Wells Floyd Edwards and Joyce Johnson Edwards. In addition to her father and mother she is also preceded in death by a son, Lee Keslar.

She is survived by a son, Christopher Burke; a daughter, Crystal Coville; brother, Wells Floyd Edwards Jr.; sister, Deborah Darlene Valadez; various grandchildren.
