Carol Davis Barber

    Bettie Carol Davis Barber, 85, of Princeton went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Born October 31, 1938, Carol was the daughter of the late John Richard Davis and Rushia Ann Overman Davis. She was the widow of 44 years to the late Thomas Dixon Barber. Also preceded in death are sisters; Madge Woodall, Lugean Slater, Helen Davis, and niece; Teresa Pittman.

    Carol grew up in the Brogden community in Johnston County. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1957 and Virginia School of Radiology in 1959. While living in Greensboro she worked 34 years as an X-Ray Technician for the Guilford County Health Department. Residing in Princeton her last 17 years, Carol was a faithful member of Princeton Baptist Church where she served as a Support Deaconess and Sunday School Teacher, as well as in the Bereavement, Petal and Crocheting ministries. In her spare time Carol enjoyed doll making and painting as well as crocheting. She constantly served family, friends and neighbors by providing meals, transportation and visits to those in need.

    The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Casey Funeral Home & Cremations of Princeton. Grave side service will be conducted immediately following the visitation in the Princeton Cemetery with Reverend Dwayne Batten, Senior Pastor of Princeton Baptist Church, officiating.

    She is survived by her sons; Jay Barber and wife Margaret, Tracy Barber both of Greensboro, grandchildren; Rebecca Barber, Luke Barber, brother; John Shelton Davis and wife Louise of Smithfield, sisters; Gail Radford of Greensboro and Holly Hollyday of Magnolia, Texas, along with three nieces and seven nephews.

    Although flowers are welcomed the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Princeton Baptist Church.
