Carolyn Shepard Moore, age 83, died Monday morning, August 29, 2022 surrounded by her family. Born January 14, 1939 in New Hanover County to the late Walter McRae and Ethel Bertelle Blake Shepard, she was the widow of John Barlowe “Jackie” Moore, Jr. and was preceded in death by her daughters, Betty Jean Johnson and Anita Justice; son-in-law, Frankie Tyndall; sisters, Ruth Ann and Elizabeth and brothers, Percy, Harold and Marion. Carolyn was a secretary with Temple Baptist Church in Wilmington for more than 35 years. She enjoyed spending time on her porch watching people and nature, fishing, sunrises, cooking and baking, especially cornbread and spending time in the mountains.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2022 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Her brother, Rev. Adrian Shepard will officiate.
Surviving are her children, Susan Tyndall, Gwendolyn Johnson, Shelby Tyndall, Angie Tyndall, David Moore, Jack Moore, III and Susie Moore; brother, Adrian Shepard; grandchildren, Wesley, Pamela, Jessica, Robin, Roger “R2”, Daniel, Tabitha, Tonya, Katie, Ashley, Stacey, Jackson, Jessica, David and Jessie great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Magan, Kenny, Keaton, Hunter, Brook and Dillon.
