Casey Stephen Sharp

Birth Date: 06/07/2000
Deceased Date: 09/02/2025
Casey Stephen Sharp, 25, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina on June 7, 2000. He was an active child who showed early aptitudes for both sports and art. He loved designing and building things with his legos and built several Lego architectural buildings. In high school he played soccer, made the varsity team and attended soccer camp at NC State University. He especially enjoyed playing goalie.
Early in life he loved to draw whatever he saw in his environment and often created beautiful canvases. His talents weren’t limited to drawing and sketching. He also loved to use his airbrush to make things more colorful and beautiful. He simply loved art and the architecture around him. His interests led him to attend the NC State College of Design’s architecture camp during high school where he designed several architectural projects.
Casey loved being outdoors and active. That love led to his work as a carpenter when he graduated from high school. He once said that he couldn’t stand the idea of being stuck behind a desk in an office. He preferred to work with his hands. He loved being outside with the sun on his face as he worked. He loved creating things and brought a singular attention to detail in his work. This fall, he had planned to work with his dad to build a new deck onto the family home, a project they both looked forward to taking on.
Casey loved animals, especially his four-legged best friend Atticus, whom he adopted as a puppy. The two were inseparable.
Coming from a large family, Casey was loved deeply by his parents, step-parents, brother, sisters, grandparents and extended family. In his youth, he loved the summers spent in Florida with his grandmother Betty and his Aunt Korina, where he played with his aunt’s dogs and horses and enjoyed trips to Disney World.
Casey is survived by his father, Stephen Sharp, stepmother Melissa (Gardner) Sharp of Smithfield, NC; his mother, Christa (Hughes) and stepfather, Rich Liner, of Lillington, NC; as well as his brother, Austin Sharp, of Fort Campbell, KY; and his sisters, Stephanie Sharp, of Raleigh, NC, and Norah Sharp of Smithfield, NC. He is also survived by his paternal aunt and uncle, Korina and Roger Barber of Sanderson, FL; his maternal uncle Kevin Hughes, of Lillington, NC; paternal grandparents, Roger and Susan Sharp of Fort Myers, FL; maternal grandfather, Rick Hughes and his wife Candy Hughes, of Sebastian, FL; step-grandparents Mike and Jennifer Cox, of Wake Forest, NC. He is predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Victoria (Wolfe) Sharp, of Sanderson, FL, and his maternal grandmother, Ellen Burke, of Lillington, NC.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home, 1351 South Pollock Street, Selma, NC 27576. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to World Central Kitchen.
It is never easy when a life is cut so short and unexpectedly. Losing Casey will forever leave a hole in the hearts of all who loved him.
Arrangements are being made by Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, NC. Online condolences can be made at www.parrishfh.com.
