Coats, NC: Mr. Charles Douglas Ennis, age 79, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Coats United Methodist Church in Coats. Rev. Paul Cecil will officiate. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens Cemetery in Dunn.
Mr. Ennis was born on March 3, 1943 in Harnett County, NC to the late William Charleston Ennis and Lela Evelyn Johnson Ennis Roberts. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Ennis retired from Combined Support Maintenance with the North Carolina Army National Guard and was a member of Coats United Methodist Church.
Surviving include his wife of 54 years, Marilyn B. Ennis; daughter, Andrea E. Roberson; grandson, Zachary Charles Roberson; sister, Sue Penny and husband, Ted of Coats; niece, Angela Stone and husband, Buster; nephew, Vance Penny; great-nieces and nephews; special family, Vicki Johnson and Family.
The family will receive friends from 7:00PM to 9:00PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats and other times at the home of Vicki Johnson.
