Charles E. Williams, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, while a resident at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC.

Born on December 5, 1941, to the late Clarence and Thelma Williams, Charles was educated in the Johnston County School system and attended J.C.T.S. He went on to serve Honorably in the United States Army. Following his service, he earned an associate degree in Automotive Maintenance and dedicated over 20 years as a Civilian Engineer at Fort Bragg.

In addition to his professional career, Charles was deeply committed to his community. He faithfully served the people of East Smithfield as a Town Councilmember for 25 years, leaving a legacy of leadership, dedication, and service.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Wilhmenia Williams; his children, Antoine Jerel Williams and Ashica J.W. Coleman; his sister, Mattie Jean Haley; along with a host of other relatives, friends, and a grateful community who will remember his life of service and kindness.

The family will receive guest at 1029 Broadway Street Smithfield Tuesday and Wednesday September 23-24, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm
