Louisburg – Charlie Junior Evans, age 68, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023, in the Woodbury Wellness center of Hampstead, surrounded by his beloved grandchildren. Born, February 7, 1955, in Johnston County, he was a son of the late Daniel Patrick Evans and Polly Pendergraph Evans. He is preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years Mrs. Connie Sue Evans.
Charlie was a loving family man, he loved spending time with his son and grandkids. He was a very talented man, as he was able to do many things including; woodworking, metal fabrication among other things. Charlie enjoyed gardening and working around the house. He also enjoyed fishing, collecting hats and going places with his family. He used to watch westerns with his grandson Charlie and take him to the country store for supplies. Charlie lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery in Smithfield, where he will be laid to rest.
He is survived by his son, Danny Evans (Karen) of Hampstead; brothers, William P. Evans (Joan) of Spring Hope, James E. Evans of Micro; sisters, Marie Marlo of Garner, Mary Boyett of Mount Airy, Brenda Evans of Selma, grandchildren, Kristen Hole (Seth), Savanah Haskins (Scott Chaucer), Charlie Evans and his beautiful great-granddaughter, Lynnette Hole. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
