    Birth Date: 04/22/2008
    Deceased Date: 11/29/2024

It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, Cohen Josef Quigley, on November 29, 2024, at the tender age of 16. Born on April 22, 2008, Cohen was the youngest son of Pammy and David Quigley and a cherished brother to his five siblings. From the moment he entered this world, it was clear that Cohen was destined for greatness, and he lived up to that promise every day of his life.

Cohen was not only his father’s right-hand man, but also the protector of his mother and siblings. He took immense pride in his role as the man of the house, always ensuring that his family felt safe and loved. His caring nature extended to all living things; he had a deep passion for animals, plants, and baking. Cohen is a student at Cleveland High School where he excelled academically, recently being accepted into the diesel mechanic program at Johnston Community College, as a junior in high school, where he was a top student with honors, particularly thriving in biology. After moving from Maine to North Carolina in his 8th-grade year, he made many friends both inside and outside of school, with one particular friend, Elijah Mitchell, standing out. Together, they shared countless adventures, from trips to Crumbl Cookie to splitting ramen noodles and many mobile food orders.

Growing up with three sisters, Cohen embraced their interests wholeheartedly. His love for plants and baking was nurtured by his sister Gabrielle, while his bond with sister Alyiah was characterized by their shared adventures and inseparable companionship, with Alyiah often serving as his personal hairdresser. His sister Jaianna reflected on their relationship, saying, “He was simply the best person to be around. No matter what I needed, he was right there, willing to help. He listened so well, offered advice beyond his years, and expressed love in a way I’ll never experience with anyone else.” Cohen shared great bonds with his older brothers, David Jr. and Torey, from wanting the same hairstyle to teaching them how to one wheel.

Cohen’s passion for life was evident in everything he did, from his meticulously styled hair to his beloved Air Forces—unless it was a croc day. He looked forward to visiting Maine during the summer, enjoying camping trips and beach days with his cousins. His cousin Ashley, who he affectionately called “Ashy,” shared a special bond with him, making sure he had the freshest haircuts, hats, and the newest Nikes. Their adventures included trips to the movies and shopping, and as he grew older, they enjoyed visits to Chicken Dave’s and the Coop, where his love for animals blossomed. Cohen and Ashley’s wife Gail shared an inseparable bond, filled with TikTok trends, late-night food orders, card games, and always being there for each other.

Cohen’s kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. In honor of Cohen’s vibrant spirit, we will hold a memorial celebration at Cleveland High School Wednesday, December 4 th , 2024, at 4:30 PM open to those who loved Cohen. We will also hold a celebration of life in his memory, as he would have wanted.
