    Daniel “Danny” Terry Johnson, age 77, of Gum Swamp Road, a beloved member of the Four Oaks community, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Rose and Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Jessie Brock. A private graveside will take place at Hills of the Neuse Memorial Gardens in Smithfield.

    Danny was born on April 11, 1947, in Johnston County, NC to his late father, Ned Daniel Johnson, Jr. and mother, Laura W. Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sara Morgan. Danny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose impact on those around him will be forever cherished. For over 30 years, Danny owned and operated Danny’s Taxidermy, a business that not only reflected his skill and dedication but also his deep appreciation for nature. As a talented taxidermist, he shared his passion for the outdoors with many clients who became friends, solidifying his place as a respected figure in the local community.

    Danny’s life was marked by his service to his country as a veteran of the US Army National Guard, a commitment that spoke to his character and sense of duty. He was known for being loving and caring, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a member of Burnell Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

    Alongside his professional achievements, Danny had a range of hobbies that brought him great joy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, often relishing time spent outdoors. In addition, he had a particular love for NASCAR Racing, a passion he enjoyed sharing with friends and family.

    Danny’s family was his greatest treasure. He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnne T. Johnson; daughter, Genene Weaver, and Randy; sons, Darrell Weaver and Lisa, Jeff Weaver and Laura; grandchildren, Cassie Cantu and husband, Jose, Mary Michael Weaver and Alston, Jack Weaver and Faith, and George Weaver; great-grandchild, Lacey Marie Cantu; sisters, Sue Wilder and husband, Robert, and Dee Powell and husband, Charles; along with several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 1:45PM on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks prior to the service.

    Danny’s legacy of kindness, service, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends.
